O.K. Megan, Jen and Steph I am now a blogger. Don't expect much, a pic now and then of Cole maybe. So for my first post I guess I will talk about the super scary tornado that almost hit us last night. So I work at Simplot doing the junk work, picking out bad fries, cleaning etc... I took my lunch last night from 8:00pm to 8:30pm when I got back from lunch my supervisor told me to be ready to go to the train dock (where the trains come in to drop off and pick up loads, the lowest area in the plant) she said we had a tornado headed our way. She told me to go call my husband since we were from out of town. I called Matt and he said it was going to hit us and that him and Cole were going to go into the bathroom. I still wasn't too worried at this point because I figured stuff like that happens here alot. Then I got back to my station and I asked the lady I was working with if this happens all the time and she said that she has been at Simplot for 22 years and has only had to go to the train dock one time. Then I was freaked out, I almost broke down in the french fries, it sounds funny but I was really picking out bad fries trying hard not to cry and praying alot. Then we heard thunder and we were in the plant with all the machines running and ear plugs in and she said that she had never heard anything like that before, I have never been more scared in my entire life. The city had sirens going off and the sirens outside of the plant were going off. So they said the warning would be for an hour to an hour and a half so at 10:15 still scared I took a break and called Matt. Simplot has a weather station and the tornado didn't get close enough for the managers to shut down the plant. Matt said the tornado was 11 miles away from us that it headed a different direction (praise God)! Today we found out that it hit a small town about 15 miles away from us, it damaged or took out every building in the town. Thankfully only 18 people were injured and one older man died because he lived in a trailer and wouldn't go to a shelter with his wife. It was an f4 or f5 tornado, and it is being called the worst tornado in this regions history. http://www.kvlytv11.com/artman2/publish/local_regional_news/Northwood_Hit_by_Weekend_Tornado.shtml
